Inspection

Property inspections for home and business owners are often required by mortgage and insurance companies prior to the purchase of a home. KEYES provides expert inspectors for Wind Mitigation, Four Point and Insurance-to-Value inspections.

  • Wind Mitigation

A wind mitigation inspection is a specific type of inspection designed to help homeowners and insurance companies identify if a home has features to increase the chances it will be able to withstand the damages normally caused by high wind. Following Hurricane Andrew, Florida passed a law requiring insurance companies to offer their customers discounts and credits for existing building features and home improvements that reduce damage and loss from wind. The wind mitigation inspection provides the documentation necessary to apply for these discounts.

  • Four-Point

Insurance companies often require a Four-Point inspection on a home before they will insure it. The completed inspection assures the insurer that the home does not have safety or maintenance issues that could result in costly claims such as fire and water leaks. The areas covered are: roofing, electrical, heating and air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing.

  • Insurance-To-Value(ITV)

Insurance to Value ir ITV inspections provide the replacement cost estimate of a property. ITV inspections provide the information that insurers need to maintain acceptable insurance-to-value limits.
